The 'smart erase' function is an automatic version of 'camera paint' tool, which copies pixels around the object, and pastes on it to erase/cover it. This function is useful when you want to remove a unwanted object from the photo, for example, a extra person coming into the view.

The usage of this function is very simple. Step 1, select, Step 2, erase it. If the result contains something unnatural, repeat selecting and erasing.

There is a painting version of the 'smart erase' function called 'repair and inpainting' tool which defines the object by painting instead of selecting. This tool is useful to remove small objects, like defects on the skin.
